Easy Grilled Asparagus

Ingredients

  • 1 bunch Asparagus (~1-2 pounds)

  • 3 Tablespoons Olive Oil

  • Sea Salt

  • Black Pepper

  • Garlic Powder or 2-3 cloves Minced Garlic (optional)

Steps

1. Prepare the Asparagus for grilling by washing the vegetable and cutting off the "stalky" parts of the Asparagus. Then, pat the Asparagus dry with a paper towel.

let's be Frank: The rough, stalky part of the asparagus usually is the bottom 1/4 of the asparagus. Consider this all the tough and rough ends that you would not want to eat. Where you cut off the ends depends on preference and the vegetable itself.

2. In a bowl, coat the Asparagus with Olive Oil and ensure that it is fully covered. If you prefer, you can add Garlic Powder (or Minced Garlic) to the oil.

3. Heat up the grill (or grill skillet) to medium-high heat.

let's be Frank: A grill skillet may be easier, as you'll still get the grill marks and you won't have to worry about it falling through the cracks of a grill. You can also do this same recipe on a baking sheet in the broiler.

4. Lay the Asparagus on the grill and season with Salt and Pepper.

5. Flip the Asparagus after ~3 minutes and season the other side with Salt and Pepper.

let's be Frank: Keep the asparagus on the grill until the asparagus softens and becomes tender. The thickness of the asparagus determines the grilling time.
let's be Frank: To have great grill marks, do not constantly flip the asparagus. Just let it sit on each side for a little bit.

6. Serve and enjoy!
